Pinnacle Pastures Farm has Heritage turkeys raised on pasture. Available on a first come first serve basis.

We have chosen to produce Midget White turkeys because we have found the meat flavor to be outstanding. It is true traditional turkey flavor without being gamey. The dark meat is extremely so. Be prepared for intense depth of color and flavor as it is savory and rich. Midget White's are a wonderful option for consumers transitioning from conventional to pastured turkey. They are smaller than the traditional turkey with toms weighing up to 20 pounds and hens weighing 10 to 12 pounds. New pictures will be on the website as the birds grow on pasture throughout the summer. We will have Midget White turkeys available for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as other heritage turkey breeds. Please place your order now before they are all spoken for!

Midget White heritage turkey beats out the Butterball

On November 2nd, Ayrshire Farm in Upperville, Virginia, announced the winners of its 2nd annual "Timeless Turkey" blind tasting test. The test pitted eight heritage breeds against the industry standard, the Butterball. Fifty guests and a panel of judges rendered their judgement. The Midget White was the favorite among the guests, while the panelists preferred the Royal Palm turkey for its "superior depth of flavor in both its white and dark meat." All the heritage breeds earned high praise, including the Bourbon Red, the Black, the Bronze, the Slate, the Chocolate, and the Narragansett turkey.
The panelists included Anya Fernald, a regular judge on the Food Network's Iron Chef of America and veteran chef Lisa Brefere, CEO of GigaChef.com. For more information about the test, contact Alice Ryan, Alice@Gita-Group.com.
